Description: Ahoy mates! Join us as we explore the world or pirates with new drawing adventures! Pirates, treasure maps, sunken treasures, parrots, a grand pirate ship and more will inspire us as we draw, using cartoon and realistic drawing techniques. Kids love drawing our playful, expressive characters and will complete several drawings each day using the unique Young Rembrandts drawing method. Description:   Journey south of the border to Mexico with Young Rembrandts. Join us for this pastel camp about Mexican culture and artistry. The Mexican sombrero is a headpiece of great cultural significance, and our students will learn about pattern application and design creation through this insightful camp. Our students will also have the opportunity to strengthen their compositional and coloring skills as they illustrate musical instruments that are important to Mexican heritage. We’ll learn about painter Diego Rivera and create a pastel masterpiece inspired by his work. No experience is necessary. Please wear an old shirt or smock to each day of class. Intro to Film & TV On Camera Acting & Behind the Scenes Camp                   NEW!

Description:  This is Wickline Casting’s original course that started 18 years ago. Your children will work as cast and crew teams in this cool camp. Kids learn basic levels of acting, directing and operating the camera. Script writing, storyboarding and improvisation will also be introduced. They will work on lots of projects such as commercials, film scenes, music videos and public service announcements. Each day is different as they create their very own original projects. They will truly learn the basics of the biz. Kathy Wickline, CSA (www.wicklinecasting.com) is a top casting director of TV and Film right here in the Philadelphia area and has selected real life projects for kids to enjoy while being introduced to this industry. Description:  We can’t wait to take a tour of Australia. This camp will provide us plenty of opportunity to try different techniques and media all in the hopes of challenging our artistic skills. Highlights include the Australian Opera House and its unique shell shaped design. We will create a graphic version of this remarkable structure for a dramatic representation. We will also explore cartooning with Australian-related jokes and scenes.  Another highlight will be a powerful pastel drawing of a furry koala bear. Pastels are a unique medium and allow us the opportunity to practice some truly sophisticated techniques. Fasten your seat belt, the race has begun! During Momentum Madness camp, students will explore four fields of engineering: Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, and Aerospace. They will design and construct vehicles and safety mechanisms that will achieve the fastest speeds while still maintaining safe racing conditions. Survivor: Engineer’s Cove Camp                   NEW!

Description:   Students in this five-day camp will find themselves stranded on an abandoned island filled with perilous obstacles – dark caves, wild animals, cold temperatures, little food, and separation from the comforts of home. They will work collaboratively with their tribe members to compete against other tribes in specific engineering-related projects aimed at trying to survive the harsh island conditions and escape to their freedom. The tribe with the most points at the end of the week will claim the honor of Survivor: Engineer’s Cove winner. During this interactive and competitive camp, students will explore the fields of electrical engineering, environmental engineering, aerospace engineering, and marine engineering as they design and construct tools that will help them survive and eventually escape the island. Description:   We’ve taken our after-school club programs from 2016-17 and turned them into a fun-filled week-long camp! Each day we’ll explore a different topic: Become kitchen chemists and investigate ingredients that pop, fizz, and foam. Transform cream to butter, create gooey gum drops and make your own frozen slushie. Become a geologist and build and erupt your own volcano. Enter the world of paleontology and uncover the stories that fossils tell and participate in a dinosaur dig. Put on your CSI badge and use forensic techniques to lift prints, conduct simulated blood typing and use a black light to reveal glowing evidence. Blast off to an out of this world adventure as you investigate space and the final frontier. Launch film canister rockets, construct a telescope and take on an astronaut challenge. Finally, join our physics team and make Bernoulli ball poppers, create an electric game and mix up a fizzy, foaming fountain!  Please bring a water bottle and a snack to camp each day.

Description:  Ignite your inner inventor with SparkFun! Interactive electronics bring a world of transistors, resistors and other circuit concepts necessary to make LED’s blink, motors spin and music play AND you’ll program LED strings to create wearable art (T-shirts and baseball hats) to take home. Note: Children will work in groups of 2 or 3 and will share supplies during this camp. Please bring a water bottle and a snack to camp each day.
